Maintenance
This job grouping performs the integral function of keeping the operating facilities in good working repair so that downtime is kept to a minimum. Positions in this category are responsible for maintaining the plant's equipment, machinery, facilities, buildings, vehicles and grounds. Individuals in these positions will frequently be called on to perform hands-on maintenance repairs on various pieces of equipment.

Operations
Positions in Operations are responsible for actually operating plant processes at water, wastewater or raw water pumping facilities. Individuals in these classifications perform routine to advance level duties in the inspection and manipulation of plant processes and equipment.

Construction Inspection
This job grouping has responsibilities for continuous inspection of municipal type construction of new facilities for the Authority to assure that work is completed according to plans and specifications.  Applicants should have specialized skills in one or several construction related activities.

Legal Services/Land Rights
Positions in this classification include attorneys, right-of-way agents and legal assistants. These positions generally require four-year college degrees and are responsible for various legal issues, for negotiating the acquisition of needed land rights for the Authority's public service projects.

Laboratory
Positions in this job grouping include laboratory technicians, chemists and biologists,all of which generally require four-year college degrees. Many of the positions perform complex chemical analysis on water and wastewater samples using advanced instrumentation and biological and chemical analysis.

Administrative Support/Clerical
Positions in this job grouping include various levels of secretarial support, and human resource support personnel. Secretarial positions perform beginning level secretarial duties to advanced level executive secretarial duties. Human resource positions are responsible for benefits administration, salary administration and development of personnel policies and procedures.

Accounting/Finance
Positions in this job grouping include beginning level accounting clerks to Senior Accounting Clerks, Accountants and Auditors. Many of the accounting clerk positions do not require a college degree while the accountant and auditing positions do require college degrees in the accounting field.

Engineering
Positions in this job category range from engineering aides to environmental engineers to civil engineers. All engineering positions require a college degree in the field of civil, structural, mechanical, environmental and electrical engineering.

Electrical/Electronic
Positions in this job grouping include beginning level electricians and electronic technicians to journeymen level electricians and senior electronic and instrument technicians. These positions perform a variety of work relating to the maintenance and calibration of computer systems, its peripherals and sophisticated electronics as well as performing installation and maintenance on high voltage equipment.

Purchasing/Warehouse
Positions in this classification include beginning level to advance level storekeepers and buyers. Positions in the "Buyer" classification conduct daily purchasing activities including the preparation of bid tabulations and vendor evaluations. Storekeeper positions process stock, perform daily entry and inspect items delivered while maintaining accurate logs of inventory.

This job grouping is responsible for the operation and maintenance activities of small to medium water/wastewater operating projects. Employees in these positions must have experience and skills in both regimens due to smaller operations and, correspondingly, fewer employees.

This job grouping includes several levels of management positions including Middle Management, Project Management, Senior Management, Executive Management and a General Manager in ascending level of responsibilities. Positions in this category are responsible for utilizing the basic management functions of planning, organizing, staffing, directing and controlling to achieve assigned goals and directives.

Pretreatment

This job grouping is responsible for various aspects of a wastewater collection system to include surveillance, repairs and water and wastewater sampling. Coordination with customer cities and implementation of industrial pretreatment programs in compliance with TCEQ and EPO regulations is of critical importance. Some upper level positions require college degrees.

Parks & Recreation

This job grouping is involved in the operation and maintenance of major recreation park facilities to include day and/or overnight camping. Positions include Park Rangers, some of which require previous maintenance experience.
