CRWS Users Mapping to New SHARP Printer & Retrieving Scanned Document. 
  1. Disconnect old Minolta printer.
  2. Connect to new Sharp printer.
  3. Set new Sharp printer as default printer (Optional)
  4. How to retrieve document scanned from new Sharp printer.

 

 

1.  The new Sharp printers are replacing all the Minolta printers on site. We will start by disconnecting all old Minolta printers first. If you are not currently map to any Minolta printer, go down to Step 2 now.

  • Open your printer folder. Click Start, select "Printers and Faxes".



 

  • All the printer start with Minolta will have to be delete.

 

  • Select/single left click on the Minolta printer, hit Delete key on your keyboard. When a "Printers" box pop up,  select "Yes".

 

  • If the printer you deleted was set as your default printer, a box will pop up to inform you that the default printer has been deleted and it has set another printer as the new default printer.  Just click "OK". This box will not pop up unless the printer you deleting is your default printer. Default printer is mark with a black/white check mark on the top right corner.

 

  • Repeat the above two processes until all Minolta printer is clear. DO NOT delete any other printer that is not label with Minolta.

 

 

2.  Map to new Sharp printer.

  • Click Start, select "Run..."

 

  • When the Run box pop up, type in \\crwsprint

 

  • In the crwsprint box, based on your office location, map to the printer closest to you or in your building. The printer name should be "Sharp'Depart Name' ". Double click on the printer you want to map to.

 

  • If done correctly, a box will pop up showing the print queue on that printer you connected. You have just map to the selected printer.

 

  • The printer you just mapped will show up in your "Printers and Faxes"

 

  • Repeat Step 2 if you need to map to more printer in CRWS.

 

 

3.  Setting new printer as default printer.

  • Select the printer you want to set as default printer, right click on it and left click on "Set as Default Printer"

 

  • A black/white check mark will occurred on the top right when selected is set as default printer.

 

 

4.  Retrieving scanned documents.

  • All users should have been connected to the P: drive \\crwsnas\scans. If P: did not show up on My Computer, restart the PC and logon again. The document that was scanned will show up in that drive by default. Move the file you scanned to your computer and DO NOT leave it on P: .  Files in P: will be delete periodically without further notification.
