Midlothian-A
ceremony to celebrate the start of construction of a
new 3 MGD water reclamation plant will be held in
Midlothian City Hall on Friday, February 28 at 2
P.M. The event was moved inside as a result of the
recent weather and its impact on the plant
construction site. The street address for Midlothian
City Hall is 104 West Avenue E.
The new state-of-the art Mountain Creek Regional
water reclamation plant will provide service to the
southern portion of Grand Prairie, and all of
Midlothian and Venus. The treatment facility has
been designed to produce a very high quality product
and will employee the very latest technology
available. It will ultimately solve most of the
wastewater issues confronting the cities it will
serve, and sets the stage for future growth.
The plant was designed by The Wallace Group of
Killeen, Texas. They project that it will take 425
days to achieve substantial completion of the
construction. This would enable TRA’s to begin
operation of the new Mountain Creek Regional water
reclamation system around March 28, 2004.
The low bidder on this project was Matous
Construction, Ltd.of Temple, Texas. Their bid was in
the amount of $5,669,000.
