NOTICE OF SPILL FROM A WASTEWATER FACILITY

A spill from a wastewater treatment or collection facility has occurred.

INFORMATION ABOUT THE SPILL

Facility Name: Trinity River Authority Central Regional WastewaterSystem

Location of the spill:  Loyd Park in Grand Prairie located on the Walnut Creek trunk           wastewater line Station #110+3250 and#131+5300                                                            

Estimated time and date of spill:  3-19-02 at 4:00 PM through 3-20-02                               

Estimated volume of the spill (number of gallons):  100,000+                                             

Type of spill: (domestic) (industrial) (other) Explain other                                                   

Area potentially affected:  Remote undeveloped recreational area at confluence of Walnut Creek near Joe Pool Lake                                                                       

Suspected cause of spill:  Heavy rains in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex hydraulically     overloaded wastewater lines                                                                                                 

 THE FOLLOWING ACTIONS HAVE BEEN TAKEN*:

                        *Appropriate local governmental officials have been notified.

*TNRCC regional office has been notified.

The spill has been contained.

Increased monitoring of water supply systems has been initiated.

The cause of the spill has been corrected.

Clean-up activities are underway/completed.
