Trinity River Basin Clean Rivers Program Steering Committee to Meet in Grand Prairie

Grand Prairie-The Trinity River Authority of Texas will host a meeting of the Trinity River Basin Clean Rivers Program Steering Committee at the Central Regional Wastewater System Treatment Plant in Grand Prairie at 10 A.M. on April 30, 2008.

Water quality monitoring is one of the main focal points of the TRBCRP. Through the combined efforts of a select group of participating entities, more than a 150 stations are sampled on a routine basis throughout the Trinity River Basin. The data that is thus made available enables water quality to be accurately assessed. This makes it possible for regulatory agencies to make decisions based on solid scientific information.

The April 30 meeting will include an overview of the TRBCRP and TRA’s FY2008/2009 contract with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. Other issues to be discussed include the Trinity River Information Management System, the CRP Data Management and Integration System, a CRP informational video, a draft of the 2008 Texas Water Quality Inventory and the 2008 Trinity River Basin Highlights Report.
