Power restored to critical TRA pump station

Arlington-Power was restored to a critical raw water pump station located on Lake Arlington Dam that enabled the Trinity River Authority to restore normal drinking water service to Bedford, Colleyville, Euless and Grapevine.

Power to the TRA pump station at Lake Arlington was restored at approximately 1:30 PM on June 2. TRA requested that non-essential water use be curtailed until the morning of June 3 in order to allow water levels to increase in water storage tanks and towers throughout the regional system’s service area.

However, other Oncor power problems with another TRA pump station is restricting the delivery of water from the Authority to North Richland Hills. TRA is requesting that all non-essential water use be curtailed by North Richland Hills until further notice.

Power was lost during the storm that ravaged Tarrant County during the evening of June 1.

Throughout this emergency there was never any question about the quality or safety of water supplied to the five cities served by the regional system. Emergency connections between the TRA distribution system and the systems owned and operated by Arlington and Fort Worth were activated. These connections allowed TRA to continue to provide service although at a much lower volume then would be customary at this time of the year.
