Steering Committee for the Trinity River Clean Rivers Project to Meet in Grand Prairie

Grand Prairie-The Steering Committee for the Trinity River Clean Rivers Project will meet at
1:30 P.M. on Tuesday, June 27, 2006 at Trinity River Authority’s Central Regional Wastewater
Treatment Plant which is located at 6500 West Singleton Boulevard in Grand Prairie.

TRA is the designated implementing agency for the Clean Rivers Project within the Trinity River watershed. Water Quality monitoring is one of the main focal points of the Trinity watershed program. This meeting is open to the public to include all stakeholders with interests in water
quality issues.

Data collected by TRA is submitted to the state’s water quality data base which is maintained by  the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. Approximately 60 percent of all the data in the state’s data base on the Trinity River has been generated by TRA’s Clean River Project.

This data plays a key role in the decision making process on a number of significant environmental regulatory issues. TRA’s objective is to provide quality data so the decision making process can be based on sound science.
