TWDB to Hold Financial Assistance Workshop at TRA Wastewater Plant

Dallas- The Texas Water Development Board is conducting a Financial Assistance Workshop on low interest loans at Trinity River Authority of Texas’ Central Regional Wastewater Plant on December 11, 2007 at 10 A.M. The primary topic will be accessing the TWDB’s Drinking Water and Clean Water State Revolving Funds for the financial benefit of the customers served by governmental entities in Texas.

Since the inception of the State Revolving Fund programs, the Texas Water Development Board has funded approximately 579 projects totaling $5.58 billion. One of those projects is the Trinity River Authority’s. TRA is currently authorized to issue $300 million in additional debt to the Clean Water SRF for necessary improvements to the Central Regional Wastewater System, serving 21 parties in the central part of the DFW metroplex.

This will be done in three increments at .95 percent basis points below open market rates. As of this time TRA has issued $120 million of this amount. Over 20-years the .95 percent discount rate will reduce the required debt service payments on the $120 million in debt by approximately $17.8 million.
