Our Mission
The Trinity River Authority of Texas is charged by legislative mandate with three functions. These include maintaining a master plan for basin-wide development, serving as local sponsor for federal water projects and providing services authorized by the Texas Legislature within TRA's defined territory.
The services that TRA currently provides include water and wastewater treatment, along with recreation and reservoir facilities. TRA also serves as a conduit for tax-exempt financing for municipal water and wastewater facilities and industrial air- and water-pollution control facilities.
Each TRA project is an independent financial enterprise. TRA operates as a government purveyor of utility services, receives no direct tax revenues or appropriations, and is compensated by its customers for services rendered.
