Trinity River Authority Reports Two More Overflows in Wastewater Colleciton System

(ARLINGTON, TEXAS) – The Central Regional Wastewater System plant experienced two more overflows. Heavy rains caused a hydraulic overload, which occurred on Wednesday, Feb. 21 at 3215 Spur 482 in Irving; the other overflow occurred on Thursday, Feb. 22 in Irving between the Mountain Creek Preserve and Loop 12. Earlier today, TRA reported an overflow, also caused by heavy rains, near 3501 International Place in Irving.

All wastewater overflows in excess of 100,000 gallons must be reported to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, the public and other designated public officials. The final estimated quantity of the overflow will be reported to TCEQ.

No public drinking water supplies have been threatened or contaminated by this overflow; no aquatic life has been affected. The public is reminded to avoid contact with waste material, soil or water near the affected area.

TRA has notified all required city, county and state officials.
