Next Public Stakeholder Meeting - Thursday, January 11, 2018
Our next public meeting for the Village Creek-Lake Arlington Watershed Protection Partnership
will take place on Thursday, January 11 at 6:30pm. We will discuss the modeled impacts ofbacterial contamination in the watershed from several sources using the SELECT analysis.Theseresults were based on recommendations made by partnership members at our last meeting. As aPartnership member, you will be able to use the output from this visual tool to decide where themost impact can be made using best management practices (BMPs) for each of the following:
Cattle (beef and dairy)
Horses (also mules, donkeys, burros)
Feral hogs
Deer
Dogs and cats
Septic Systems
Sanitary Sewer Overflows
Please join us to voice your thoughts and opinions on how this project can help to improve the water
quality and recreational potential of both Lake Arlington and Village Creek as we continue to navigate
this crucial period of the planning process.

Next Public Stakeholder Meeting - Thursday, September 28, 2017
Our next public meeting for the Village Creek-Lake Arlington Watershed Protection Partnershipwill take place on Thursday, September 28, at 6:30pm. The meeting will be held at the Forest HillCity Hall. It is vital that stakeholders attend this meeting to provide valuable input that will drivethe tools used to make water quality planning decisions for the watershed. We are looking for:
Population density estimates for:
Cattle (beef and dairy)
Horses (also mules, donkeys, burros)
Feral hogs
Deer
Dogs and cats
Waterfowl and bridge nesting birds
We will also be looking for input on such things as septic system (OSSF) use, prominent or persistent
sanitary sewer overflows (SSOs) or other human/animal activity you are aware of that may prove to
be a significant source of E. coli bacteria in Village Creek that should be accounted for.

Lake Arlington Cleanup RESCHEDULED - 6/3/17
Keep Arlington Beautiful's proposed reschedule for their Arlington Lake Clean-Up is Saturday,
June 3, 2017 from 7:30-11:00 AM at Richard Simpson Park.
Registration deadline is May 12th. To register, contact kab@arlingtontx.gov.
Volunteers will assist on shore and off shore around Lake Arlington. Those that assist offshorewill be taken by boat to tackle the heavily litter islands with City staff. All passengers must wear
a life vest at all times while in the boat, provided by the City of Arlington.
Please note: Volunteers must be at least seven years old to participate and accompanied with aparent or guardian.
Light breakfast, snacks and lunch will be provided.

Services Center. We will discuss content from the first three chapters of the WPP and attendees
will be able to voice their opinions about what should be included in the WPP as we move
forward.

Next Public Stakeholder Meeting - 2/2/2017
Our next public meeting for the Village Creek-Lake Arlington Watershed Protection Partnership will
take place on Thursday, February 2, at 6:30pm. The meeting will be held at the Everman City Hall
Annex. We will discuss some of the financial and technical assistance programs available to
agricultural producers and also provide a water quality monitoring update. We will also be
reviewing an example watershed protection plan to prepare for the coming months as we begin to
write our own for the VCLA WPP effort.

Our next public meeting for the Village Creek-Lake Arlington Watershed Protection Partnership
will take place on Thursday, September 22nd, at 6:30pm. The meeting will be held at the
Fitness Center Amphitheater at Huguley Hospital in Burleson. We will provide everyone with
water quality results during our first monitoring update, and will also talk about some urban
best management practices, including low impact development, homeowner tips, and
stormwater management.

Thisworkshop is for anyone interested in private water well management and for those interested inlearning about ways to improve and protect their community's water resources. The workshopwill provide participants with information about Texas groundwater resources, septic systemmaintenance, water well maintenance/construction, and water quality and treatment.

workshop includes both indoor classroom presentations and an outdoor field portion along the
river to discover the role of riparian vegetation in properly functioning riparian systems.

then we will be voting in members for the Steering Committee. If you have someone in mind that
would be an asset to this decision-making group, you can nominate them at the meeting or
through our Stakeholder Survey.

Texas Watershed Stewards Workshop - 3/10/2016
Free to Attend!
The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service and the Trinity River Authority will host a Texas
Watershed Steward workshop in Arlington. Water quality related to Village Creek and Lake
Arlington, and watershed management in general (including topics regarding hydrology, water quality, water quality law, agricultural and urban best management practices, and others), will be
discussed. The event and it’s available continuing education credits are free and open to the
public.
There will also be a free lunch for attendees who pre-register by March 8th. The professional continuing education credits offered are applicable to, but are not limited to, professional
engineers, certified crop advisors, certified planers, landscape architects, professional
geoscientists, Texas Department of Agriculture pesticide license holders, certified teachers,
certified floodplain managers, and select TCEQ occupational license holders.

Watershed Protection Plan Kickoff Meeting - 12/10/2015
Thanks to everyone who joined us in Burleson for the kickoff meeting on Thursday, December 10th. Presentations are now posted to the Meetings page for your reference.
