MEETING SET TO DISCUSS MEMBERSHIP, WATERSHED PROTECTION PLAN 

WHAT:
The Village Creek-Lake Arlington Watershed Protection Partnership will meet to learn more about the watershed planning process and nominate stakeholders to the partnership’s steering committee. The committee will be responsible for making decisions related to the Watershed Protection Plan (WPP), guiding implementation of the WPP and facilitating local participation in the planning process.

WHO:
The Trinity River Authority of Texas, the city of Arlington and the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality are partnering with local governments, business owners and residents.

DETAILS:
Village Creek is currently listed as an impaired water body on the TCEQ 2010 Texas Integrated Report of Surface Water Quality. While it is not currently listed as impaired, Lake Arlington was included in the 2012 Integrated Report for nitrate and chlorophyll-a concerns.

This project is funded through a Texas nonpoint source grant from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, with matching funds provided by the city of Arlington.
