Trinity River Authority, TX

The Texas Legislature created a state-wide flood planning process modeled after the state’s highly-successful water planning process.  The end goal is to reduce risks from flooding by conducting a bottom-up approach to flood-planning that relies on regional groups.  In the Trinity basin, this duty falls to the Region 3 Regional Flood Planning Group.  The Trinity River Authority serves as the local sponsor for the Region 3 RFPG, and is committed to understanding flooding, how it is caused, how to prevent it, and how to overcome when it does occur.
