PUBLIC MEETING TO FINALIZE COMMITTEE MEMBERSHIP FOR WATERSHED PROTECTION PLAN

WHAT:
The Village Creek-Lake Arlington Watershed Protection Partnership has set a meeting to invite the public and partnership members to learn about tools that will be used during the Watershed Protection Plan (WPP) process. Attendees will participate in selecting stakeholders for the Partnership’s steering committee, which will be responsible for making decisions, guiding implementation and facilitating local participation in the planning process of the WPP.

WHO:
The Trinity River Authority of Texas, city of Arlington and the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality are partnering with local governments, business owners and residents.

DETAILS:
Village Creek is currently listed as an impaired water body on the TCEQ 2010 Texas Integrated Report of Surface Water Quality. While it is not currently listed as impaired, Lake Arlington was included in the 2012 Integrated Report for nitrate and chlorophyll-a concerns.
This project is funded through a Texas nonpoint source grant from the TCEQ and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, with matching funds provided by the city of Arlington.
