STUDENT ARTWORK ENCOURAGES PROTECTION OF OUR WATER RESOURCES

(ARLINGTON, TEXAS) – The Trinity River Authority of Texas’ 4th annual art contest winners were recognized today at the Authority’s board of directors meeting. Students were tasked with creating original artwork that represented the theme “Protect the Source.” The winners’ artwork depicted the importance of conserving and protecting our water supplies from potential pollution. More than 1,800 entries were received from first through eighth-grade students who live within the Trinity River basin.

A winner from each grade level was selected with an overall grand-prize winner selected from among the winning entries. Each winner received a certificate, a calendar and notecards featuring their winning artwork. Additionally, the grand-prize winner received an Amazon tablet, while the remaining winners received $25 Visa gift cards. The winners including their grade, school and teacher are:
