TRINITY RIVER AUTHORITY REPORTS TWO WASTEWATER OVERFLOWS
(ARLINGTON, TEXAS) – The Central Regional Wastewater System plant experienced two overflows on Thursday, March 1 at 11223 Luna Road in Dallas and 11900 Luna Road in Farmers Branch. The overflows occurred when heavy rain caused hydraulic overloads at 9:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., respectively.
All wastewater overflows in excess of 100,000 gallons must be reported to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, the public and other designated public officials. The final estimated quantity of the overflow will be reported to TCEQ. No public drinking water supplies have been threatened or contaminated by this overflow; no aquatic life has been affected. The public is reminded to avoid contact with waste material, soil or water near the affected area. TRA has notified all required city, county and state officials.
