TRINITY RIVER AUTHORITY REPORTS WATER MAIN BREAK

(ARLINGTON, TEXAS) – A break in a 33-inch Trinity River Authority water main was discovered Thursday evening; the 38-year-old water main, which experienced breaks in two locations, supplies treated water to the cities of North Richland Hills and Colleyville.

Damage assessment on the line is in progress; the assessment involves excavating and dewatering the trench in order to safely access the pipe. Once the pipe is visible, crews will be able to fully assess the extent of the damage and determine the actions needed to begin the repairs or replacement of the water main.

The Trinity River Authority is working with both of the affected cities. More information will be provided as it becomes available.
