WATERSHED, ECOSYSTEM WORKSHOP TO HELP IMPROVE WATER QUALITY

WHAT: 
A one-day workshop sponsored by the Trinity River Authority of Texas, AgriLife Extension Office in Tarrant County, and the Texas Water Resources Institute will educate attendees on ways to help improve water quality. It will focus on the nature and function of streams and areas related to the bank of a natural water course, known as riparian zones. Topics will include an introduction to riparian principles, watershed processes, basic hydrology, erosion and deposition principles, riparian vegetation, the potential causes of degradation, and possible resulting impairment. The workshop also will cover available local resources including technical assistance and tools that can be employed to prevent or resolve degradation.

Tuesday, May 24, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.
